It’s hard to believe it has been nearly two months since I last posted. Please allow me to apologize. I’m sorry. I will have to quote Ferris Bueller on this one, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while you could miss it.”
I really fell into the rut of get up, go to work, come home, go to bed. Lather, rinse, repeat. So now I am back and rededicated to posting once per week.
This week I attended a seminar on creative writing. It was so eye-opening. One of the exercises we did was to describe something using each of of our five senses. That exercise made me see how I need to pay attention to the five senses as I go through life. I literally and figuratively need to stop and smell the roses.
How many days go by where I don’t even notice what I have seen on my drive home or I don’t listen to the sound of children playing when I am delivering something to school. How many times do I just gobble down my food without tasting it? This needs to change.
Living in gratitude starts with paying attention.
